It may be a cliché to say that our “hospital cats” are part of our staff, but how can we resist? We love them to pieces. And working around here just wouldn’t be the same without some royalty to preside over everything.

Purcy, His Royal Highness Shortly after T.H.E. Cat Hospital opened its doors, the Elston family rescued a precious wee little kitten and named him Purcy. Purcy quickly proclaimed himself to be His Royal Highness and has done quite well for himself ever since. If you come for a visit, you’ll likely find Purcy on his regal couch, presiding over his empire with benevolent wisdom and patience.

Sable, Royal Right-Hand Man to His Royal Highness Sable was also only a kitten when he was found with a bite wound in his chest and a punctured lung. Dr. Elston nursed him back to health and he has been at Purcy’s side for nearly 13 years. When Purcy has a thought, Sable is there to act on it. And really, where would a King be without loyal servants?

Winston, Brave Dog Fighter and Chivalrous Purrer Winston may be more brave than good when it comes to fighting, but we dare you to meet him without falling in love! Winston was in a roadside gutter when Cindy found him, his hind legs paralyzed from a scuffle with a dog. Noble little guy that he is, Winston quickly adjusted to his new situation. Now he’s constantly showered with love and attention (and food!)—making him one happy cat!
