Tom Elston, DVM, with Magoo
Board-certified in Feline Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Dr. Elston possesses a clear understanding of the medical needs specific to cats. Since receiving his DVM from Colorado State University in 1976, Dr. Elston has worked diligently to stay on top of the most recent developments in feline and pet health through continuing education. He served as a member of the Executive Board of the American Association of Feline Practitioners for 12 years, and was elected president for the 1994-1996 term. Dr. Elston was also on the Council of Regents of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners for five years, and continues to serve on several national feline health care committees.
At work and at home, Dr. Elston is surrounded by some remarkable cats. But even in such good company, Magoo is special. Although he’s blind, Magoo never misses a beat—casually navigating through Dr. Elston’s house, jumping on to and off of furniture with ease, and cheerfully greeting human visitors at the door. While Dr. Elston marvels at Magoo’s uncanny sensory perception, it’s his warmth and affection that really won the doctor over.

Joni-Practice Manager with Genisis
Joni is our new Practice Manager. She comes to our practice with 8 years of practice management experience. In addition to her many duties to keep the hospital running smoothly, she hopes to restart our Kitten Purrschool this year. With a degree in Community Health Education, Joni is big on client education. She will be looking for ways to help our clients have additional educational information available to them and to share the latest news and info on new products as they become available.
Cindy, Chief Technician, with Midnight
Cindy is a catstanding technician! Just ask one of the countless cats who have happily recovered from critical situations with the help of Cindy’s inexhaustible compassion and dedication. Midnight came into Cindy’s life as a stray where she found him living under a freeway. Cindy says she saw him there for about three months on her way to work and just couldn’t let him stay there by himself any longer. Midnight constantly paws for attention and will actually jump into Cindy’s arms from the floor to get it. He’s also quite the talker. Cindy is really glad that she decided to stop one day and take him home with her. We are sure that Midnight is grateful as well..
Becky, Receptionist, with Valentino
Becky has a knack for winning the affection of visiting cats. Her own dreamboat, Valentino, gladly smothers her with kisses whenever she needs them. And although the romantic smooch on the nose he gave Becky at the adoption center stole her heart forever, Valentino generously shares Becky’s affection with the three cats she brought home after him: Daisy, Emily, and Smudge.

Tara, Receptionist
The other half of our Saturday duet, Tara worked as a volunteer staff member for a short time until we realized she was too good to work for free! Recently, Tara became involved with another successful duo when she added a hyper-kitten soprano named Ziggy to her mellow, 17-pound tenor named Thumper. Of course, Thumper is a real teddy bear—he and Ziggy get along famously, without a hint of professional jealousy.

Theresa-Animal Care Taker
Theresa is a person that many times you will not see on a visit to our practice. Theresa’s main responsibility is in our Bed & Breakfast boarding area. She is the person who provides the “breakfast” part of boarding along with all the play time and love that goes along with it. Trust us when we say that Theresa truly makes your cats boarding experience an exceptional one!

Nathan, Marketing Developer, with Izumi
Nathan wrote the copy for this Web site. He hopes that you like it (a lot!) and that you mention it whenever you come in. After hearing stories about Izumi's rather frequent digressions from appropriate feline behavior, Dr. Elston diagnosed Izumi as "borderline normal." Although not a clinical disorder, it means that Izumi is a big ol' pain-in-the-keister. But a very, very lovable one.
John, Webmaster
John isn’t just the Webmaster; he’s a client too! We’re grateful that he was both expert and patient enough to help us get the Web site we wanted. We’re also guessing that his sweet guys, Keisa and Yeti, are grateful (in a distinctly feline way, of course) to be living with a guy who is home all day working on his computer. If you like our site, be sure to check out his gallery at conceptualedge.com to see some other sites John has built.
